Case: Corrosion had formed on the inner shell of a stainless steel tank used for salt storage.
Treatment: A two-step cleaning and passivation procedure:
Step 1 – Cleaning: High-pressure water equipment was used to remove salt deposits from the tank walls.
Step 2 – Chemical Passivation: A chemical treatment was performed, including pickling and passivation of the tank’s inner shell to remove rust and create a protective layer of chromium oxide.
