Dust Suppression, Dust Prevention, and Soil Stabilization

Lahor Engineering Ltd. represents in Israel the companies Midwest and Penzz Suppress from the USA, which manufacture materials for dust prevention, road dust control, and coal dust suppression. These materials are diluted in water, and the resulting solution is sprayed onto soil, or onto piles of soil, coal, minerals, and similar materials.

Dust Prevention on Dirt Roads

The spraying process creates an elastic layer over the material, keeping the dust compacted to the ground for an extended period.

Soil Sement and PSD are among the best dust suppression materials in the world, widely used in North America and globally for dust control and soil stabilization.

Using these dust suppression materials allows heavy vehicles to drive over the treated area for a long time after application, with increasing intervals between treatments and gradually reduced amounts of material needed for each subsequent application.

Properties and Advantages of the Dust Prevention Material:

  • The dust prevention material prevents the formation of PM10 and PM2.5 dust particles with an efficiency of 98%, which is maintained over time (95% after 3 months and 90% after 12 months).

  • Environmentally friendly! The material does not leach or evaporate (contains no solvents) and does not alter the soil’s pH or alkalinity.

  • Provides a cumulative effect, stabilizing the surface so that it does not shift, break, or sink. It does not stick to vehicle tires or heavy machinery tracks and does not become brittle or fragile.

  • Resistant to various weather conditions, including wind and rain (after drying for a few hours), ultraviolet radiation, and more.

  • Increases the load-bearing capacity of the soil on all types of ground.

  • Prevents water infiltration into the soil and stabilizes it.

  • Dries quickly (within a few hours) and aesthetically, without changing the color of the soil.

  • All dust prevention and soil stabilization materials are approved by environmental authorities in the USA and by the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection.

So What Is the Role of Mechanical Seals?
Mechanical seals are critical components in pumps, particularly in applications where a rotating shaft enters a chamber containing liquid. Their primary purpose is to prevent fluid from leaking out along the shaft. Since leaked fluids may pose safety hazards or cause environmental contamination, mechanical seals play a vital role in protecting both equipment and surroundings. There are various types of mechanical seals, and it is important to be familiar with them already at the seal selection stage. Mechanical seal refurbishment typically becomes relevant at a later stage, when economic considerations justify refurbishing an existing seal and make it a more cost-effective option compared to purchasing a new, expensive mechanical seal.
